How much does a home appraisal cost in Canada?

Who pays for the appraisal?
Usually the borrower. A broker or lender can order and send the borrower a secure link to pay by card, so nobody has to collect the fee by hand.
Will my lender accept the appraisal?
Lenders set their own rules on appraisers and report types. Tell us the lender when you order and we assign an appraiser who meets its requirements. If a lender needs a specific report type, choose it on the order form or ask us first.
What is the difference between a full, desktop and drive-by appraisal?
A full appraisal includes an interior and exterior inspection. A drive-by appraisal looks at the outside only. A desktop appraisal has no site visit and relies on data and comparable sales. Your lender decides which one the file needs.
How long does an appraisal take?
It depends on the property, the location and the appraiser’s schedule. Rush handling is available when you need it, and you can follow every step on your tracking page, so you always know where the file stands.
